Theresa Marangas created and led the Albany Litigation team for 12 years. She continues to maintain a significant and diversified civil defense practice. During her career, Theresa has litigated cases involving professional and medical malpractice, products liability, toxic torts, employment issues, insurer/agent disputes, class action civil rights claims, municipal liability, transportation, construction and hospitality law, among other areas. She often is brought in on controversial cases in which the parties are entrenched in their views, bringing a fresh perspective, a wealth of courtroom experience and a familiarity with her adversaries to achieve outcomes that accomplish her clients’ goals.
Theresa defends international corporations, financial organizations, management companies, governmental entities, non-profits and educational institutions. She has tried cases throughout New York in federal and state courts, and also has substantial experience in administrative and arbitration proceedings. Theresa has been featured in articles in the New York Law Journal for her defense of an international hotel chain and of a county correctional facility targeted in a civil rights class action.
