Thomas A. Wilson

Tom Wilson's practice is centered on assisting financially troubled companies and municipalities facing bankruptcy, insolvency, and other restructuring situations. He has played significant roles in Jones Day's representations of debtors and potential debtors, prepetition secured creditors, defendants in avoidance actions, sellers and purchasers of assets, and other significant creditors and parties in interest in many of the nation's largest corporate and municipal restructurings. He has significant experience across a variety of industries (e.g., automotive, retail, manufacturing, and financial services) and regularly counsels clients in connection with distressed asset transactions, supplier issues, fraudulent conveyance, preference and fiduciary duty actions, environmental and mass tort liability, post-petition financing, transition services, and jurisdictional issues arising in bankruptcy. Tom has particular experience with respect to municipal bankruptcy and the liquidation of complex corporate enterprises.

Tom has represented, among other clients: American Greetings Corporation; Boscov's Department Stores; Cablevision Systems Corporation; Chrysler LLC, Old Carco Liquidation Trust (the liquidating successor in interest to Chrysler); the City of Detroit, Michigan, in its historic chapter 9 case; Dana Corporation; Financial Guaranty Insurance Company; General Motors LLC; Hostess Brands, Inc.; International Textile Group, Inc.; KeyBank; Levitz Home Furnishings, Inc.; LTV Steel Company, Inc.; Metaldyne Corporation; and Oglebay Norton Company.

Tom has coauthored bankruptcy-related articles published in the Journal of Bankruptcy Law and Practice and was recognized as a "Rising Star" by Ohio Super Lawyers in 2009, 2010, and 2012.

Tom is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association.
