Tom Peckham heads the Estate Planning Group. His practice is concentrated in the areas of sophisticated estate planning for high net-worth individuals, estate and trust administration, and related tax and business planning.
Tom has more than 35 years of experience in estate planning. He is an innovator in the use of legal strategies to benefit his clients involving family limited liability companies, grantor-retained annuity trusts, qualified personal residence trusts, installment sales to “defective” grantor trusts and trust “decanting.”
He has lectured on numerous topics related to estate planning for the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, the Federal Tax Institute, the ALI-ABA, the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Boston Bar Association, the Boston Estate Planning Council, and Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, and the Boston Probate and Estate Planning Forum. Since 2007, he has served as a lecturer in law for the Boston University School of Law Graduate Tax Program, teaching Advanced Estate Planning. Tom serves as the Massachusetts State Chair of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and was named as “Estate Planner of the Year” in 2013 by the Boston Estate Planning Council.
