Tim Cullen is head of the worldwide Global Disputes Practice at Jones Day. He is regularly called on to lead teams and present cases in the most complicated commercial matters, including antitrust (for both plaintiffs and defendants), contract, trade secret, and shareholder disputes. He has tried federal and state jury cases, argued federal appeals, and been lead counsel in U.S. and international arbitrations.

In addition to U.S. litigation in courts in Newark (New Jersey), Kansas City (Missouri), Charleston (West Virginia), and Wilmington (Delaware) to name a few, Tim has been involved in Jones Day's international efforts since the 1980s when he worked on defense of the General Motors Toyota Joint Venture and the Gillette-Wilkinson merger, prosecution of Texas Instruments' patent rights, and participated in Jones Day's efforts to develop its offices in London, Paris, and Germany. Both in court and in front of arbitration panels, Tim has led cases involving cross-border mergers, joint ventures, licensing agreements, takeover contests, and international trade disputes, arising out of London, Paris, Saudi Arabia, Eastern Europe, Latin America, Russia, and various parts of Asia.

For more than 15 years, Tim has been an active member of the Center for Public Resources, a leading group of corporate and firm lawyers focused on alternative dispute resolution, and developed a broad sensitivity to where and how mediation or other alternative procedures are the best way to serve the client.

Jones Day, through Tim and others, has working relations with all of the major arbitration centers throughout the world and with various mediation centers and educational efforts, particularly in China.
