Thomas Pasternak is a partner in the Intellectual Property Practice Group. With more than 20 years of experience, Thomas focuses his practice on patent litigation, licensing, and prosecution. He has appeared in more than 50 patent cases in federal courts across the United States, handling fact discovery, preparation of witnesses, preparation of expert reports, cross examination of technical witnesses and experts, Markman hearings, dispositive motion hearings, and trials. Thomas has written and prosecuted hundreds of patent applications in many technologies, including the areas of electrical engineering, chemical products, and medical devices. He has litigated cases before the International Trade Commission (ITC) and frequently argues before the Federal and Seventh Circuits. Thomas also has extensive trademark and trade dress litigation experience, as well as trademark prosecution experience.
