Tom Walsh has more than 30 years of experience advising clients and participating in adversarial matters, often in the area of international trade and finance. He has particular experience in the shipping and petroleum industries, and in financial and bank fraud matters.

In past years, he has represented clients in workouts and bankruptcies, including banks and shipping and petroleum companies; purchase, sale and operational problems of international shipping companies; purchase, renovation and sale of an oil refinery; bank failure and ensuing claims in Europe; foreign exchange contract disputes; oil pollution matters in North America, Europe and Africa. Tom has been involved in litigation and arbitration matters in the United States, many countries in Europe, and Hong Kong and Japan. He has also served as an arbitrator in the United States.

Tom recently argued and prevailed in a matter in the Supreme Court of the United States involving enforcement of a contract clause binding a U.S. party to a contract to arbitrate a dispute in a foreign country.
