Thomas P. Ludwig’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation. He has defended a major Houston area hospital system in more than a dozen employment discrimination matters and also represented banks in numerous commercial and consumer finance cases involving contract disputes, loan fraud, usury, and receiverships. In particular, Tom obtained a defense verdict in a bench trial challenging the sufficiency of a bank’s sale of several jet aircraft securing loans to the plaintiff air ambulance operator.
Since joining the firm, Tom has represented Celanese Corporation, a multi-national chemicals and plastics manufacturing company, in the defense of a multi-district litigation antitrust action involving the sale of polyester staple fiber, prosecuted a legal malpractice claim against an AmLaw 100 firm, and defended LBC Houston in a contractual dispute concerning construction of liquid storage tanks. Tom has also represented Southern Union Company in insurance disputes arising from two fires at a natural gas processing plant. In addition, he has handled a number of toxic torts and products liability matters.
