Timothy Scott

is a partner in King & Spalding’s Business Litigation Practice and is Managing Partner of the firm’s Silicon Valley office. Mr. Scott has practiced in the Silicon Valley for most of his 23 year career representing both emerging and mature public companies and the companies that serve them.

Mr. Scott focuses on the defense of securities class actions (defending over 20 class actions and obtaining defense judgments in well more than half) and the litigation and arbitration of complex commercial disputes, including contract and licensing disputes, fraud and breach of fiduciary duty claims, unfair competition claims, consumer class actions and disputes arising from business combinations. He has also acted as counsel for special litigation committees in connection with derivative claims and has represented issuers in SEC and NASD investigations. He is listed as a "California Super Lawyer" in the area of Securities Litigation.

Mr. Scott has particular expertise and experience in the Life Sciences industry, where he has represented companies ranging from start-ups to emerging companies and large bio-pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers. In the Life Sciences arena, he has litigated or arbitrated disputes arising out of collaboration agreements and joint ventures, licensing disputes, distribution and supply agreements, qui tam actions, class actions and issues related to off-label marketing.
