Tim Overton, a partner is Steptoe's Phoenix office, is an experienced commercial litigator who handles a variety of matters in both state and federal courts. Representing clients through all stages of litigation, he provides counsel aimed at avoiding unwarranted litigation and aggressively preparing for, pursuing and defending litigation when necessary.

Mr. Overton’s most substantial trial experience has involved complex commercial disputes, including breach of contract and related actions where ownership of entities, properties, and other assets were at stake. Mr. Overton also has substantial experience defending major product manufacturers from significant tort claims and defending employers from employment and compensation-related claims.

Additionally, Mr. Overton has experience enforcing and defending non-competition, non-solicitation and confidentiality provisions in employment agreements, as well as advising employers and employees regarding when such enforcement is beneficial. Mr. Overton also has extensive experience in representing and helping creditors to obtain and collect on judgments. Admitted to practice at the Hualapai Tribal Court and having litigated in the Courts of Indian Offenses and Indian Appeals in Anadarko, Oklahoma. Mr. Overton also handles matters related to Native American law. He also counsels clients in litigation involving real property including quiet title, foreclosure, adverse possession, fair market value hearings, and easements.
