Todd E. Gordinier

Todd Gordinier represents clients in complex commercial litigation and arbitration of various kinds, including shareholder class and derivative actions. Todd's clients have included major financial institutions, investment banks, accounting firms and law firms, as well as healthcare, retail, real estate and manufacturing companies. For his clients in regulated industries, Todd brings extensive experience in handling pre-litigation regulatory disputes as well.

He has significant jury and court trial experience, including two defense verdicts in lengthy jury trials arising out of class actions filed in connection with public stock offerings and two recent defense victories in arbitrations arising from the financial crisis. Todd also has considerable experience in the area of appellate advocacy, both written and oral. He argued successfully before the California Supreme Court in the landmark decision inMirkin v. Wasserman.

He has practiced extensively in both state and federal courts throughout the country and before various administrative and investigative agencies, including the Securities and Exchange Commission, the PCAOB and FINRA. Todd has also appeared in Delaware Chancery Court on a number of occasions in connection with significant issues of corporate governance, proxy contests and merger-related litigation.

Todd writes and lectures on a wide variety of procedural and substantive litigation topics. He served as a lawyer representative to the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference and as the chair of the Central District's Committee on improving relations between the federal judiciary and the more than 30 members of Congress representing the Central District.
