Tracey M. Robertson

Tracey Robertson

holds the position of counsel in King & Spalding’s Houston office, and has over 15 years of trial and appellate litigation experience. A former clerk for the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, her practice has encompassed complex commercial trial court and appellate litigation in state and federal courts around the country, as well as arbitration, mediation, and Federal Energy and Regulatory proceedings. Since joining the firm in 1997, she has represented clients in a wide variety of matters, including contract disputes, class actions, antitrust litigation, market manipulation cases, securities litigation, raiding cases, mass tort litigation, commercial tort cases, and oil and gas royalty disputes. In addition, she has significant experience providing clients involved in negotiating complex contracts with advice on how to avoid litigation related to those contracts, and assisting clients involved in litigation with preservation of error for appellate purposes.

Ms. Robertson’s clients have included the Houston Astros, Shell Oil Company, Chevron Corporation, Exxon Mobil Corporation, Texaco Inc., General Electric Company, Emerson Electric Co., Viacom Inc., The Lincoln Electric Company, CVS Caremark, Quest Diagnostics Inc., Aon Corporation, and Jefferson Pilot Corporation. She has served on Firm committees for Knowledge Management, Summer Associate Hiring, and Pro Bono Work.

Education, Admissions, and Community Service

Ms. Robertson is a graduate of Yale Law School (J.D., 1994), where she served as Book Reviews Editor for the Yale Law Journal. After law school, she clerked for the Hon. Emilio M. Garza, United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Before law school, she attended Wellesley College (B.A., 1991), from which she graduated, magna cum laude, and with Phi Beta Kappa honors, and St. Catherine’s College, Oxford University. She was admitted to practice in Texas in 1995, and is also admitted to practice before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and multiple federal trial courts.

Ms. Robertson’s community service has included years of service on the board of directors of the Houston Area Women’s Center and of the Mercury Baroque Ensemble.
