Tsedey is an associate in the firm’s Complex Litigation Group. Tsedey has experience representing clients in product liability, toxic tort and pharmaceutical and medical device litigation matters, including mass tort actions, multi-district litigations, and class actions. She has prepared and defended manufacturers and entities in a variety of industries, including consumer product manufacturers, automobile and component manufacturers and pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers.
Tsedey’s civil litigation experience is comprehensive. She has experience in handling various aspects of litigation at all stages of proceedings in state and federal courts. This includes handling subpoenas for records and depositions, all forms of motion practice, including drafting dispositive motions at the pleading stage and summary judgment, taking depositions and conducting and managing discovery.
Tsedey maintains an active pro bono practice. She has volunteered with the New York Legal Assistance Group and Homeless Advocacy Project. Tsedey also serves as an associate liaison for the NY Diversity Committee, and she is a member of Reed Smith’s Women’s Initiative (“WINRS”). She was a 2016 Pathfinder of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (“LCLD”) Pathfinder Program.
While in law school, Tsedey served as an Associate Editor of the Journal of International Law and as the Alumni Development Chair of the Black Law Students Association. Through the Penn Program on Documentaries & the Law, Tsedey co-authored and co-produced the documentary short Between Worlds: The Path to Independence for Immigrant Survivors of Domestic Violence. As part of an innovative management class at Wharton, Tsedey, along with her teammates, won the Wharton/Penn Law Make-A-Wish Challenge, which funded the wishes of local children with life-threatening medical conditions. Prior to attending law school, Tsedey was a Teach for America science teacher in Brooklyn, and she volunteered for Operation Smile Ethiopia.
