TUNG T. NGUYEN is counsel with Sidley Austin LLP’s Dallas office. Mr. Nguyen practices intellectual property law, focusing on patent litigation, licensing and prosecution. While at SMU, Mr. Nguyen was an Articles Editor for the Computer Law Review and Technology Journal.
Mr. Nguyen assists clients in patent licensing and litigation, both offensively and defensively. He has participated in every phase of litigation, from pre-trial investigation through post-trial motions including discovery, depositions, motion practice, and preparing fact and expert witnesses for their deposition and trial testimony. Mr. Nguyen’s practice also includes the preparation and prosecution of patents in various fields, including software, mechanical and electronic devices, industrial equipment, optics, and telecommunications.
Prior to law school, Mr. Nguyen worked as an electrical engineer for ElectroSpace Systems and Comsat RSI. While at ElectroSpace and later at Comsat, Mr. Nguyen worked on all aspects of antenna control systems used in satellite communications systems and radio telescopes, from designing circuit boards to system and software integration. Mr. Nguyen also worked on the control system for the Green Bank Telescope, the world’s largest fully-steerable radio telescope.
Mr. Nguyen has spoken on intellectual property issues at the American Intellectual Property Law Association’s Advanced Patent Prosecution Seminar.
