Tyler Onitsuka is an associate in the Employment and Labor practice group and a member of Cooley's Litigation department. He joined the Firm in 2010 and is resident in the Palo Alto office.
Mr. Onitsuka received his JD from the University of California, Davis School of Law in 2009, where he received a Witkin award for Legal Writing and was Senior Articles Editor for the UC Davis Journal of International Law and Policy. Mr. Onitsuka received his BA with high honors from the University of Texas at Austin, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
In law school, Mr. Onitsuka served as Problem Writing Chair for the UC Davis Moot Court Board and as a board member for the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association. He also represented victims of domestic violence for the UC Davis Family Protection and Legal Assistance Clinic and worked as a teaching assistant for the UC Davis Department of Political Science. After law school, Mr. Onitsuka worked for the Washoe County Alternate Public Defender's office.
Mr. Onitsuka is a member of the State Bar of California.
