Mr. Mehta's practice focuses on general litigation matters. Specifically, Mr. Mehta has extensive experience handling complex real estate litigation, land use and environmental litigation, government litigation, and business litigation relating to fraud and contract issues. Mr. Mehta has recently handled several cases relating to government approvals of real estate developments, as well as compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (and other relevant land use requirements) for such projects. Mr. Mehta also routinely handles lawsuits relating to real estate disputes, including representing financial institutions on creditors' rights matters, rights of first refusal, complicated real estate foreclosures, and general disputes stemming from real estate contracts. Mr. Mehta has also prosecuted significant fraud cases relating to real estate developments.
Prior to joining Manatt, Mr. Mehta interned at the Orange County Public Defender Office. He also participated in the Boston University School of Law Civil Litigation Program, where he worked on employment and housing matters in conjunction with Greater Boston Legal Services. Presently, Mr. Mehta serves on the Associates Advisory Board for the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles.
