Vishal V. Khatri

Vishal Khatri's practice focuses on intellectual property law, including representing clients in patent litigation matters before U.S. district courts and the United States International Trade Commission. He also counsels clients in developing and maintaining their strategic, international intellectual property portfolios and preparing their portfolio's for litigation.

Vishal has experience with many aspects of patent litigation, including domestic and international discovery issues, motions practice, depositions, expert testimony, claim construction, summary judgment, and trial practice. He also has advised clients regarding enforcement practice before U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Additionally, Vishal has extensive experience representing clients before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He has successfully obtained hundreds of U.S. and international patents for clients. Vishal also advises clients in connection with appeals before the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences and post-grant proceedings such as reissues and reexaminations. He counsels corporations on litigation avoidance strategies and intellectual property due diligence in connection with product launch, financing, and acquisition transactions. In connection with these transactions, Vishal has drafted patentability, noninfringement, validity/invalidity, and freedom-to-operate/clearance opinions.

Vishal's technical experience covers a broad cross-section of technologies. He has experience with wired and wireless communications, cellular telephone networks, GPS, software design and implementation, memory devices, LEDs, television transmission and display, general ASIC fabrication and packaging, computer networking, medical devices, consumer electronics, automotive technologies, industrial equipment, and financial methods.

Prior to beginning his legal career, Vishal designed power plants, designed and implemented software solutions for the federal government, and optimized cellular networks for various clients.
