Wei Zhang practices intellectual property law in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and consumer product fields. He advises clients on the preparation, prosecution, and management of United States and foreign patent portfolios involving a wide range of technologies (such as pharmaceutical formulations, small molecules, immunology, molecular diagnostics, stent, bone implant, and cosmetics). Wei also investigates and prepares opinions regarding freedom to operate and noninfringement issues.

Wei's practice also includes representing clients in patent infringement and licensing agreement disputes. He has experience in the discovery phase of litigation and pretrial motion practice. He has been involved in appeals of the final decisions of the Board of Patent Appeals and Interference to the Federal Circuit.

Additionally, Wei performs due diligence investigations for acquisition, licensing, and technology transfer transactions. He has reviewed and drafted intellectual property-related agreements.

During law school, Wei was an extern to the Honorable Vice Chancellor Lamb at the Delaware Court of Chancery. Prior to law school, he worked in the pharmaceutical industry. Wei holds a master's degree in organic chemistry and an undergraduate degree in biology. He has coauthored several papers in peer-reviewed journals and a book chapter on organic synthesis.
