Wendy J. Ray

Wendy Ray is a trial lawyer with expertise in complex intellectual property matters. Clients turn to Ms. Ray for her strategic approach and efficient management of complex matters in view of their unique circumstances and goals.

Ms. Ray has a long track record of successfully litigating the most complicated and challenging cases for her clients, whether by prevailing on summary judgment or securing a favorable jury verdict. She has represented plaintiffs and defendants in a range of high-technology patent matters involving semiconductor chips, microelectromechanical systems, digital televisions, laser medical devices, video compression, automated call processing, videogames and software systems, and various other technologies. Ms. Ray has substantial experience representing both complainants and respondents before the International Trade Commission. Ms. Ray has also successfully litigated high-stakes trademark, copyright and trade secret disputes.

Ms. Ray earned her J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center. She was an articles and notes editor of The Georgetown Journal of Gender and the Law and Eastern Division winner and national finalist at the Lefkowitz Moot Court Competition. Ms. Ray earned her M.P.H., with distinction, from Yale University; her B.S. in engineering from the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences of the University of Pennsylvania; and her B.S. in economics from the Wharton School of Business.

Ms. Ray was named one of the Top Women Attorneys in Southern California and a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers in 2013. She received the Women's Information Network's Young Woman of Achievement Award in 2002. Ms. Ray serves on the executive committee of the Intellectual Property and Entertainment Law Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association.

Ms. Ray is admitted to practice in state and federal courts in California, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Ms. Ray is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
