Dr. William Ziehler’s legal practice focuses on the drafting and prosecution of chemical, biochemical, and biomedical patent applications. He also prepares freedom-to-operate opinions and prior art searches in the chemical arts and life sciences.

Dr. Ziehler’s graduate thesis focused on biochemical, biophysical, and genetic studies of nucleic acid and protein interactions, in particular those involved in catalytic RNA enzymes. Thereafter he worked at a biotechnology company where he contributed to the development of a novel means of whole genome amplification, including unique nucleic acid manipulations, which culminated in a pending U.S. patent application.

Dr. Ziehler has experience managing corporate research projects and developing and instituting corporate IP management policies. He has also taught undergraduate biochemistry courses.
