William D. Janicki

Bill Janicki’s experience includes the management of complex litigation cases involving product liability, mass torts, aviation accidents, wrongful death, and commercial disputes including trade secret, contract, and intellectual property matters. Mr. Janicki has represented clients before state and federal courts across the country and has successfully tried cases to a jury verdict.

Mr. Janicki’s practice encompasses all areas of product liability and commercial litigation, and he has successfully represented a number of clients in cases involving multidistrict, multijurisdictional, and foreign litigation. Mr. Janicki has extensive experience with trial, arbitration, mediation, and arguing appeals before courts of appeal. Mr. Janicki has successfully guided the litigation strategy for a number of large and complex aviation litigation matters and has successfully handled matters involving accidents in foreign countries. His legal advice extends beyond the efficient management of litigation matters to the provision of strategic counseling and risk management.

Mr. Janicki is recognized Best Lawyers in America (2015) and by Legal 500 U.S. in the area of product liability and mass tort defense: aerospace/aviation. He is a frequent speaker on topics of evidentiary issues, jury communication, use of expert witnesses, aviation litigation, and electronic discovery. In 2012, Mr. Janicki was appointed to the Legal Technical Committee of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

While serving as a pilot in the United States Air Force (KC-10 aircraft commander), Mr. Janicki attended the McGeorge School of Law, graduating in 2001. His aviation background includes multi-engine, commercial, and instrument ratings with over 2,000 flight hours and international experience in transport category aircraft.

During law school, Mr. Janicki was a member of the McGeorge Law Review editorial staff. Upon graduation, he was awarded the Outstanding Graduating Senior Award for Excellence.
