William E. Turner II is a partner in the Chicago office of Barnes & Thornburg and a member of the Corporate Department. Mr. Turner focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, capitalization and finance transactions, restructurings and joint ventures.

With more than 20 years of corporate and securities law experience, Mr. Turner handles matters involving mergers and acquisitions, capitalization and investment transactions, as well as disposition, separation and restructuring activities. He is well-versed in securities offerings, public company reporting and corporate governance matters. Mr. Turner also advises clients on distribution, sales, technology and financial services commercial agreements.

Mr. Turner works regularly with buyers and sellers in the software, healthcare information technology, information technology and other technology-driven industries. He has represented a number of European companies and investors in their acquisitions, investments, commercial and regulatory matters in the United States. Mr. Turner has participated in numerous fund and joint venture formations.

Active in the community, Mr. Turner serves on the board of the Swiss American Business Council. He is also a member of the Business Law and Health Law Sections of the American Bar Association and a member of Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS).

Mr. Turner earned his J.D., cum laude, from Northwestern University School of Law in 1995. In 1992, he earned his B.A., with honors, from the University of Chicago.

In addition to being admitted to practice in the state of Illinois, Mr. Turner is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois
