Bill Murray,

a partner in the San Francisco office, is a member of the Real Estate Group.

Mr. Murray has been playing a leading role as a practitioner, author and lecturer in the California real estate market for many years. From 2005 until 2012, he served as Chair of Orrick's Global Real Estate Group. Mr. Murray has a highly sophisticated real estate practice devoted to representing investors, developers, pension funds and other tax-exempt entities and their advisors in real estate acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures and fund formation. He has a diverse and high-profile practice and is currently advising the developer and asset manager in connection with the US$447 million development of the Sacramento Kings stadium complex in downtown Sacramento.

Mr. Murray has substantial experience with the acquisition of distressed debt, real estate mergers and acquisitions, construction and long-term lending, ground leasing, sale-leaseback financing, synthetic leases and development transactions. He has been responsible for the leasing of numerous large retail, office, hotel and resort and industrial complexes and has been extensively involved in the workout of troubled financing transactions. A significant portion of Mr. Murray's practice is devoted to representing pension funds and other tax-exempt entities and the advisors to such funds and entities. This work involves traditional buying and selling for such entities, negotiating and drafting co-investment vehicles, as well as negotiating and drafting agreements for the creation of investment funds.

Mr. Murray has been consistently recognized as a leading real estate lawyer by Chambers and described as "very experienced with a very good reputation" and "a legend in San Francisco." (Chambers USA, 2013). He is also recognized in the Daily Journal's list of California's Top Real Estate Transactional Attorneys of 2013. In addition, Mr. Murray is consistently listed in Expert Guides, Thomson Reuters' Super Lawyers and Who's Who Legal as one of the outstanding practitioners in his field.
