William P. Quinn Jr

William P. Quinn, Jr. is a partner in Morgan Lewis's Litigation and Intellectual Property Practices. His practice focuses on complex commercial issues, with particular emphasis on antitrust, trade secret/intellectual property litigation, securities, and disputes involving computer technology. He represents clients from a wide range of industries including manufacturing, computer software and hardware, media, and information technology. Mr. Quinn represents plaintiffs and defendants in federal and state court litigation and has represented clients in international arbitrations.

Mr. Quinn is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania.

In re FreeMarkets Securities Litigation. Successfully defended leading provider of B2B online procurement services in $100+ million putative class action lawsuit asserting securities fraud in connection with client’s initial public offering.

Westwood One Radio Networks, Inc. v IDB Worldcom, Inc. Obtained multimillion-dollar recovery for major U.S. radio broadcaster in California state court action for breach of satellite transmission services agreement.

ProtoComm Corp. v. Novell, Inc. Successfully defended Novell in an antitrust suit alleging that it used monopoly power in the alleged market for the sale of network operation systems to exclude competition in the alleged market for the development and sale of video server software.

Sandvik AB v. Advent International, Inc. Prevailed in multimillion-dollar arbitration before the Netherlands Arbitration Institute arising from failure of U.S. private equity funds to consummate purchase from Swedish multinational corporation of manufacturing subsidiaries in Italy, Japan and the U.S.

FreeMarkets v. Vésper S.A. Prevailed in international arbitration in Portugal against Brazilian telecommunications carrier on claims stemming from breach of electronic procurement services contract. Recovery of $1.7 million.

Cytokine PharmaSciences, Inc. v. Convergence Pharmaceuticals, Inc., et al. Successfully represented biotech company in Massachusetts state court action against pharmaceutical company and former officer asserting claims for misappropriation of intellectual property, tortious interference and unfair trade practices.

Westwood One Radio Networks, Inc. v StarGuide Digital Networks, Inc. Successfully represented major U.S. radio broadcaster in antitrust suit seeking injunctive relief and damages from supplier of satellite transmission equipment and software.

Houghton International v. Kalmbach et al. Successfully represented international manufacturer of specialty chemicals in action against former director and officer for misappropriation of proprietary technology, tortious interference, and diversion of corporate opportunities of client’s subsidiaries in China and Hong Kong.

Hosiery Corporation of America, Inc. et al. v. International Data Processing, Inc. Successfully prosecuted claims in New Jersey federal court action for fraud and breach of data processing services agreement.
