Bill Stewart has acted as the principal lawyer in a wide variety of transactions involving privately held companies, with a focus on representing private equity funds and their portfolio companies. He has extensive experience in leveraged buyout transactions, equity financings, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate counseling in a wide range of industries.

The private equity funds with which Bill has worked include Blue Point Capital Partners, Cyprium Partners, Edgewater Capital Partners, Goode Partners, Hicks Equity Partners, High Road Capital Partners, Kirtland Capital Partners, Morgenthaler Partners, Primus Capital, Resilience Capital Partners, and The Riverside Company. He also has represented numerous public companies in buyout transactions, including ABM Industries, The Gorman-Rupp Company, The Lubrizol Corporation, and NACCO Industries.

Prior to joining Jones Day, Bill practiced general corporate law in the legal department of National City Corporation. Prior to National City, he was a banking and institutional investing associate with a New York-based law firm in Chicago, where he represented borrowers and financial institutions in various financing transactions.

Bill is Vice President of the Board of Trustees of the Yale Alumni Association of Cleveland and Secretary of the Board of Directors of The Children's Museum of Cleveland.
