William Woodford is a patent litigator in Fish & Richardson’s Twin Cities office. He has successfully led and tried cases in numerous patent venues throughout the United States. Mr. Woodford also has extensive experience in patent licensing, as well as patent portfolio analysis and development. These efforts have generated over $120 million in verdicts, settlements, and licenses for his clients.
Mr. Woodford’s clients are primarily located in the United States and Europe. He has litigated and licensed patents that cover a wide variety of technologies, including electronics, telecommunications, and life sciences. Mr. Woodford is also an elected member of the firm’s finance committee. In addition, he has managed the Fish’s alternative fee practice since 2007. During that time, he successfully developed and implemented programs to help academic and research institutions around the world commercialize and enforce their patents.
Mr. Woodford is a frequent speaker on the topics of patent litigation and licensing. He has been named a Minnesota Super Lawyer since 2012 and recognized as an “Up & Coming Lawyer” by Minnesota Lawyer.
