William “Bill” Coats focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation, specifically involving patents, copyrights, trademarks and trade secret disputes. He possesses deep and broad knowledge of a number of cutting-edge technologies, which he uses to provide strategic counsel to clients across a number of industries, including computers, electronics, entertainment and the media. He is the past Chair of the Science and Technology Law Section of the American Bar Association and was appointed by the U.S. government to the United Nations Centre for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business Task Team on Intellectual Property Rights and Related Issues in 2008.
