Yardena R. Zwang Weissman

Yardena R. Zwang-Weissman is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Litigation Practice. Ms. Zwang-Weissman has represented clients in matters before state and federal courts and across a broad range of businesses, with emphasis on the financial services, technology, energy, manufacturing, and supply industries.

Ms. Zwang-Weissman primarily focuses her practice on high-profile environmental and complex mass tort litigation. She has represented clients in cases involving various environmental statues, including CERCLA and the HSAA, as well as substances and chemicals including volatile organic compounds, perchlorate, lead, asbestos, benzene, and silica. Ms. Zwang-Weissman has helped manage the defense of several complex cases involving alleged soil and groundwater contamination related to sites in southern California, including two in which she served as second-chair trial counsel. She is also part of a team coordinating national representation for serial product liability actions.

Ms. Zwang-Weissman also focuses her practice on commercial matters and has handled cases and counseled clients in litigation involving consumer class actions, corporate investigations and business disputes concerning breach of contract, fraud, and unfair business practice claims.

Ms. Zwang-Weissman participates in and manages all aspects of litigation, from commencement through the development and implementation of defense strategies that involve conducting extensive discovery, coordination with other parties, taking and defending percipient and expert depositions, and trial, mediation, and arbitration preparation. Her practice includes acting as national, coordinating, and trial counsel. She has also narrowed and resolved cases through motion practice as well as favorable settlement.

Ms. Zwang-Weissman currently serves as a member of the executive committee of the Environmental Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. She received her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2006, where she served as notes editor for the Hastings Law Journal. While in law school, she served as an extern for Justice Carlos Moreno of the Supreme Court of California and Judge S. James Otero of the Central District of California. Ms. Zwang-Weissman received her B.A., with highest honors, in communication and law and society from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2003.

Ms. Zwang-Weissman is admitted to practice in California and before the U.S. District Courts for the Central, Northern, Southern, and Eastern Districts of California.
